FLEAS

WHAT & WHY?

Fleas are a wingless parasite that feed on the blood of a host.

Flea bodies are narrow which enables them to move quickly through fur. They have strong rear legs for jumping, and piercing and sucking mouth parts.

DID YOU KNOW?

A flea can jump 30,000 times without stopping.

HOW TO MANAGE FLEAS
  • Clean animal bedding regularly

  • Treat your pet/s with a reputable flea treatment in accordance with directions

  • Vacuum regularly

TREATMENT

Internally, we will complete a wet spray application to all carpeted areas including mats.

Externally, we will complete a wet spray application in all areas where the pets lie: naked dirt, bedding and kennels.

You will be required to remove everything off the carpeted areas, including shoes from the base of wardrobes and toys and stored items out from under the beds.

It is a good idea to wash the pets bedding and flea treat the pets with a reputable branded flea treatment program on the treatment day.

In addition we add growth inhibitor to our chemical treatment and the chemical will take approximately 2 - 3 hours to dry.

HOW CAN I TELL IF WE HAVE FLEAS?
  • Pets are scratching and combing fur

  • Flea dirt in the fur

  • Itchy bite marks on humans
