ANTS

WHAT & WHY?

Ant infestations in Perth homes are common and they are extremely frustrating for the residents of the infested home.

Ants travel long distances to forage for food, so although they are not poisonous, they are unsightly within a home, they undermine paving and some species can give a nasty bite.

DID YOU KNOW?

There are over 10,000 ant species around the world!

HOW TO MANAGE ANTS

Internally, ants forage for food, so it's important to clean up spills and store food in airtight containers. Externally, they undermine paving, making it difficult for children to play. Ants also eat leftover pet food.

HOW CAN I TELL IF WE HAVE AN ANT INFESTATION?
  • Ant mounds appear in the lawn or paving

  • Trails of ants on the bench, kitchen bin

  • Children bitten on the grass as they play

BAITING

We will inspect to identify the species and the problem areas, then bait depending on the infestation, by poisoning the trails back to the nests, then poisoning the nests.

The chemical used is dependent on the ant species present and may include: 'Indoxacarb', 'Hydramethylnon' or 'Pyriproxyfen' or a combination.
